What we have done for them:
The existing house was held back by a huge retaining wall which involved removing the patio and soil between that and the house before we could begin underpinning the existing foundations. The reasons for underpinning the rear and side of the existing properly was the new floor level was lower than the existing floor level. The new concrete structural floor slab and walls were designed and built to withstand pressures forced against them. We used over 40 cubic metres of concrete for this project! We were then able to start building the lower ground floor rooms and kitchen area above. Although the project was very labour intensive, we felt the end result far outweighed the hours spent and were delighted with the finished work.
