Of course you can use your own if you really have a specific one you feel strongly about. We do ask you to keep in mind though, that from our experience, this can be a little disjointed in timings. Paul has worked with his trades for years and in many cases he is their main source of work. That means that Paul can juggle the different trades most effectively as and when needed.
Generally if a trade is needed on your project at a specific time, Paul can juggle what they are doing on another of his jobs to fit in and keep all jobs moving as much as possible. If you are reliant on someone else then Paul doesn't have that flexibility to move workman around as needed.
For the best experience all round we prefer to use our own trade contacts. You really do get the best of both worlds then – the cost effective support of local trades but with Paul project managing the whole job.
